Efficiency and sustainability of an aseptic filling line of vials and bottles

For almost 60 years IMA S.p.A. has been designing and manufacturing automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, tea and coffee, driven by the mission to invest in technologies that can improve the quality of life on the planet, reduce food waste, increase access to more effective drugs and allow greater respect for the environment.

Recently IMA Life chose to innovate the standard module of its multi-format rotary washer VEGA Series, part of the aseptic filling line of vials and bottles for sterile environment, passing from a mechanical concept to a fully electronic one, with the adoption of a hybrid system of motorizations.

For the basic functionality of the machine consisting of bottle transport and washing trolley management, the mechatronic motion control subsystem consists of an MP3300iec Machine Controller with Yaskawa's Sigma 7 motors and drives.
